css - Transitions on the display: property

I'm currently designing a kind of CSS 'mega dropdown' menu - basically a normal CSS-only dropdown menu, but one that contains different types of content. At the moment, it appears that CSS3 Transitions don't apply to the 'display' property, i.e. you can't do any sort of transition from display: none to display: block (or any combination). Can anyone think of a way for the second-tier menu from the above example to 'fade in' when someone hovers over one of the top level menu items?I'm aware that you can use transitions on the visibility: property,...Read more

css - DIVs not Displaying as Block on Mobile

I am making a practice layout (http://commission.lillykauffman.com/itfts.php) and even though everything looks good on desktop, the top elements are not displaying as "block" in mobile. Since I have no specific code for mobile, it should be the same as on desktop, in theory.Feel free to look at my code - it's all on the same page - and let me know how I can go about fixing this. FYI I also did width:100% and that doesn't work, and also isn't preferable for my layout.Click here for screenshot...Read more

I am trying to make a <ul> slide down using CSS transitions. The <ul> starts off at height: 0;. On hover, the height is set to height:auto;. However, this is causing it to simply appear, not transition,If I do it from height: 40px; to height: auto;, then it will slide up to height: 0;, and then suddenly jump to the correct height. How else could I do this without using JavaScript?#child0 { height: 0; overflow: hidden; background-color: #dedede; -moz-transition: height 1s ease; -webkit-transition: height 1s ease; -o-transition: h...Read more

CSS: background image on background color

I have panel which I colored blue if this panel is being selected (clicked on it). Additionally, I add a small sign (.png image) to that panel, which indicates that the selected panel has been already selected before. So if the user sees for example 10 panels and 4 of them have this small sign, he knows that he has already clicked on those panels before. This work fine so far. The problem is now that I can't display the small sign and make the panel blue at the same time.I set the panel to blue with the css background: #6DB3F2; and the backgroun...Read more
